Interview Advice

I have my interview in a few days and I'm getting a little nervous. What should I expect? What types of questions should I prepare myself for?

re: interview advice

i recently did my phone interview, and it went really well.

questions that I remember include:

what characteristics set you apart from other students pursuing medicine?

what are some of your weaknesses?
(i BSed some stuff like how i procrastinate and love to sleep so sometimes put things off)

what are some of your strengths?

what are some of your goals after having obtained a degree in medicine?

what type of physician do you want to become, i.e. specialization?

why do you want to be a doctor?

who's your role model and why?

what do you like to do for fun, during your free time?

that's all i can remember for now. i think the key to the interview is how confident you sound, not really your answers. my answers were pretty typical, but i tried to sound really casual and friendly and warm w/ the guy, plus really self-assured about my responses. oh and dont forget, don't rush. take your time.

hope that helps! good luck, and don't be nervous!

take care!

i had my interview a while ago, but what i do remember is that it was very casual. i was really nervous- but the questions were not too bad. i remember him asking, what i like to do on my spare time, who's had the biggest influence in my life, why i want to be a doctor, a lot about my extracurricular activities, three strengths about myself, three weaknesses about myself, why i want to pursue medicine, etc. just keep talking, it's a really conversational interview.

good luck!

Basically most of these carib schools accept 99% of students as long as u can pay the tution thus gettin in is not hard.
Its the gettin out part, by that i mean WORKING HARD and passing the steps and getting residency. You have to be willing to work!

Thanks for the advice and the sample questions--they really came in handy. I had the interview a few days ago and it was really casual and I felt really good about it afterwards. Hope to hear something soon--keeping my fingers crossed.
