If you are asking if we are working on obtaining state approvals so that our students may perform clinical rotations in Fl, NY, adn Tex, then yes we are. A general time frame for Florida is in 2-3 years.

ok, I do understand this process with clinical rotations, but from what I researched in Florida, this approval process for clinicals has nothing to do with getting a residency or licensure in the state of Florida, for an Xavier student?

Post so

so what does that mean, lets make the questions easier.

If you got to xavier can you do residency in florida or not?No, not tell they get the clinical approvals.

If you go to xavier can you do residency in NY? No, not till they get the clinical approvals

If you go to Xavier can you find residenyc any where Yes? 35-40 states and canada. But probally by 2-3 years 44 states for sure.

NY:
Up to 12 weeks of rotations while in Med School is OK.
Can't do more than 12 weeks of rotations or residency in NY without NYS approval.

Florida:
Can't do rotations while in medical school without Florida approval.
Can do residency. No approval is necessary for residency.

Instead of Xavier giving answers which we have many times now, why don't you contact the Florida Board as well as read the licensure application for yourself. This should clear up all questions.

Ok

So this is what i figured out by calling all the state boards.

States that we cant do residency?
-CA,NM,NY,OK,KS,VT,AK,TX

States we cant be licensed in?
-CA,TN,NM,KS,AK,VT,TX,OK

That leaves us about 35-40 states for residency.
42 states for licensure.
PLUS all of canada.

That's a solid piece of advice. You people ought to call the licensing boards with all your questions, dont just rely on what the schools tell you. I should make this my VMD signature.
