After the interview, i got a letter in mail that reads:

You have been accepted for JAN 06' (PRE-MEDICAL) program. Can anyone from XAVIER tell me why is that... Why do you guys thnik that i will go into PRE-MEDICAL instead of BASIC SCIENCE ....
Please call so that we can have your name. HOpefully this is a type-O.
Some things to remember: D's do not transfer and some classes are not stated on transcripts in traditionally used wording, causing us to need to review the class descriptions. I.E: some classes some students believe will transfer do not.

I do not have ANY D's... non of my grades are below C... My GPA is WELL ABOVE 3.0. I have taken and passed ALL the pre-med science courses...

You are the ONLY school that did this to me.... I got accepted in 5 other schools(Basic Science) I'm not gonna waste my time trying to call and verify, i think you guys should have done it right the first time, other schools did...

This seems like a BIG SCAM, you guys thought i would not know or would not find out until i submitted the tuition and started school, but by then i would not be able to do anything....

Latin,
I had that same problen with Xavier, though I had a few D's, which was not your case. But my classes were repeated too with passing grades. Xavier could have been my first school of choice...this could have been my 2nd semester there.
It was the first school I applied to when I was looking into Caribbean schools. I just hope the fix that problem there!

We are sorry that some were not acceted into the progra of their choice, but once again you should have the answer as to what program you qualify for before submitting anything. Pre-req's have not changed and are clearly lined out on the website, http://edu.XUSOM.nl, and 90% of the time there is not any grey areas as to what will transfer. I don't know your particular case, but generally our problem with transfers is that they do not get the registrar's dept. ALL of the transcripts. This forces us to only credit a student with what classes we officially have record of. This transfer process/ credit is not a difficult procedure and there are steps to follow if more info is needed. Once again, we are sorry that your application was not approved for the MD program, but please remember that when looking for residency and liscensure you will be questioned on your completion of pre-medical courses. It is our duty as a school to make sure you have no discrepencies or faults in education.

What is your current affiliation with the GMC Group? Are you up-to-date with that group and are we guaranteed US Clinical Rotations, to date? Thank you!

Are you on a rolling admissions basis, or is there a deadline to apply? What is the latest you can apply for the Fall 2008 semester? Thank you!

I don't think the admission has been here in while. Here is what I know from research and counseling I do on VMD. Xavier Aruba and GMC have a business relationship. GMC does not have greenbook rotations and have been dropped by other schools. So be aware that your clinical rotations could be substandard. I think if you applied the day before class started and had money you would be in the class the next day. There are many issues with this school. Read the posts/research this forum.

On the other hand - They have students who have now graduated and are now in residency. You have to decide on the risks. I would think you need to attempt applying to US schools first, then the 50 state island schools or European schools, them AUA, St. Matt's, MUA-N, way before this school.
