loans update

School is going to make you pay out of pocket. You will have an option of several different payment plans, with a cosigner and paid upto date by the end of semester. No loans, no tutition deferrment.
Students with outstanding balances from last semester will have to pay that up front within a week or else will be kicked out.
With the current payment plan students will be have to clear balance prior to writing the final exams or they wont be able to sit for the exams at the end of the semester.
Meanwhile the owners are going through with building expansions and the assorted construction work, but they cannot mysteriously get money for current students that are enrolled and give a tutition credit.
TIME TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER MEDICAL SCHOOL.

This is true, I spoke with the new student coordinator in person and they informed me that while they are pursuing new lenders, they don't have any agreements yet. The only method of payment is upfront, or through one of their payment plans. What concerns me is they seem to be complacent with the loan situation right now, because they say they receive most payments "out of pocket". This trend can only happen for so long and if the school wants to grow they need to offer all students the financial means for attending.

Is the school seriously expecting everyone to pay out of their pockets, and is that what ALL the students that are attending doing? How can every student there have enough 'pocket money' to pay for tuition upfront? Seems unrealistic. Why has it become so hard for the school to find lenders? Financial aid should be the last thing any student should have to worry about...this is a big problem.

Why it has become so hard to find lenders?

The loan market is tight, a major player just filed bakruptcy, TERI, and these are considered high risk loans even with co-sginer. It is gloomy,a real bad moment for private loans and bankers. Yes, as big problem indeed.
