    Tuition Increase AGAIN

So this school has rotations mainly in Chicago, and then a few other various cities. I have been informed by an American clinical coordinator that the rate for foreign student rotations in the specific city of Baltimore, is 400$ per week per student. I am willing to bet that Chicago is the same if not cheaper. That means a 6 week rotation costs 2400$ and therefore a 12 week rotation costs 4800$. Our tuition is 9000$ and now being increased to 9900$ per 12 weeks. This is a pretty hefty profit for the school. We haven't acquired any new hospitals, so there is no reason to increase tuition.

If and when this school treats it's students better, a tuition increase will be more supported.
From what I hear, things have been getting better in Baltimore while in Chicago they are not.

When we set up our own electives and do all the work in arranging them and finding them- the school will pocket 100% of the tuition. XUSOM will not pay a portion to an elective location unless this hospital/office/physician, signs a contract with the school. Some hospitals/clinics will charge you the fee, so the student pays full tuition to XUSOM and pays "tuition" to the elective preceptor. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!

    Can you explain more ....
We just started school month ago with many other issue that school needs to take care ignoring insanly they hit with higher Fees.
If school increase fees then they should provide higher security, higher educational standard and better facility.
Class rooms are freezing. Most of the student fails their exam. Curve culture what is it ?

There is nothing to really explain further 4u4u..... I don't know know why they increase their tuition. I can take a guess: The president is greedy and knows that we can't leave xavier because hardly any schools will accept our credits. I'll take another wack at it: our tuition is still cheaper than some of the other carib schools- so since xavier is ran by businessmen, WHY NOT up our tuition. They increase it because they can. Mind you- they don't try to help students financially.

These people are not interested in helping anyone- they don't care about the quality of education, they don't care about the future, they don't care about the future of healthcare and they do NOT care about the students.
Do not expect better professors and do not expect better rotations. It would be a miracle. But for the sake of all the students who are within xavier's walls: I truly hope they do something and stop messing with people's futures.

Does anyone else think its a coincidence that Xavier raised their tuition a few days after they moved to a nicer and bigger building?

I remember a few years ago they also added some random fee to our tuition when the aruba campus was undergoing construction.

Glad someone else noticed that on the changed letterhead! While the communication could have been better by the powers that be...I suspect more changes to come. Hopefully those changes will be the most efficient means to increasing the abilities of those students.
