687 points For example, let's just say that they start with Physiology. You will have:
15 - 20 questions on CVS on Monday
15 - 20 questions on Vascular System on Tuesday
15 - 20 questions on Respiratory on Wednesday
15 - 20 questions on Endocrine on Thursday
15 - 20 questions on GIT on Friday
15 - 20 questions on Renal on Monday
15 - 20 questions on Endcrine - Sex hormones on Tuesday
Wednesday might be off - 50%
Thursday is 100 questions of all Physiology. This is call the Mock exam and its roughly 2 hours maxium.
Then the next class will be Pharmacology with same pace; 15 - 20 questions on subtopics each day followed by 100 questions Mock exam. So forth.

538 points Wow, that sounds pretty intense. How is grading done in MD5? Attendance and an average of these quizzes, and maybe a final? Basically, do you have to try hard to fail MD5?
512 points yea that sounds intense. how do you guys find the balance student for the quizzes and mock exams with studying for the steps?
we dont study fro the quizzes. Just stick to your own step 1 routine and everything else will fall into place
512 points What do you guys recommend for cellphones? what carrier, what plans are good? I'm looking to get a phone plan while I'm in Ohio but not sure what to get for my iPhone.'

538 points US guys can go back to their old plans. for canadians and other foreigners, i really recommend using you GSM phone (phone with a SIM card) on t-mobile. do a monthly plan, where you pay month by month and usually $40 gets you everything you need.
here's a link: Prepaid Cell Plans | No Contract Plans | Text, Talk or Web | T-Mobile
the only drawback is you have to use your own phone. but if you have a blackberry, especially, there should be no problems in getting data for your BBM and all. the iphone will work, but will not be able to get 3G speeds. it will be on EDGE. but other GSM phones should work without a problem, especially strictly for voice and text. data requires certain bands, which most new phones today do cover, but there are still some phones *cough* iphone *cough* that will not get data on it. you'll be in your room most of the time, im assuming so wifi should have you covered to make calls and all on your iphone back home.
verizon and att are just down right expensive and their monthly plans are..meh...tmobile is the way to go, for sure, if you have your own phone to begin with. if not, just spend $600 (tops!) on a new phone from tmobile or get one for a discount with a two year deal, because you'll most likely be doing your clinicals in the States as well. might as well have a phone contract that spans that whole time. but tmobile's monthly plan is still cheaper in the long run, especially if you want just the bare-minimum.
512 points thank you PnS11.
and if you don't want to do that then you can always just use skype
Any one know how MD5 in Ohio was or is? Just got accepted as a transfer to MD5. Thanks!
