    WUSOM Faculty

I am a prospective student. I am just wondering if anyone can provide some insight on the faculty? What is the demographics and credentials of the faculty? Are they mostly MD's? Have they themselves passed the USMLE? How has your experience been with the teaching? Do they have open office hours after class if you have questions or do they disappear? Also, just out of curiosity, what are the demographics of the student? Mostly American? Canadian? Other? (Not that it matters, just curious).

I did not attend the basic sciences at Windsor but I can say most of the caribbean schools have non-american professors. There are many Indian professors. Some teachers are great & some are horrible. Some have not taken the USMLE before but teach from a curriculum that is supposed to prepare you for the USMLE. I know some other students on the island can provide you with more insight.

actually cardiomegaly, that about sums it up. Just like most schools our faculty is mostly south indian profs & some nigerian profs. Some of them have taken and passed the USMLEs whereas the older profs have not. They are mostly MD/MBBS's and there's a couple PhDs.

The majority of students at caribbean schools (& at this school based on what others have said) are composed of mostly East Indian, Middle eastern students, some West African students, Caribbean & then a small minority of African-American and Caucasian American students. I could be slightly off because I have not been to the island but based on info from facebook and previous information about other schools this should be pretty accurate. Hope this answers your question. Im not sure if you were asking about the racial & cultural background of the students or the characteristics of the students.
