What's up, first off you might want to stock up on toiletries and food. It's quite expensive out here. Second, bring all your student visa requirements, and a check book if you decide to pay upfront to the school when you arrive.
Umm, if you need to know anything else feel free to drop me a PM.

510 points Thank you so much...For the reply. I was wondering if you throw some light on how things work as soon a I get to the island...and also how things will work
with the visa application as I know the document is to be brought along with me..thankyou again so much.
Once you get to the island, the driver (Kimbo) will ask you where would you like to live unless your unsure where to live he will take you around. I recommend Royal, as it's where majority of the students reside in.
After that, you will be notified when is registration and orientation and all that good stuff. You will also be given a phone to use, but yeah that's pretty much it once you hit the island. Student visa is straight forward, grab your papers and the 150USD check or money order to compensate for the charges.
There's quite a bit of surcharges so don't think your paying the 4990 for MD1, you usually spend about 7500 with all the fees. 1000 would last you 2 semesters, but depends on your lifestyle.
When are you coming to St Kitts?

510 points Thank you again for the reply...alright so I wont be taken straight to the University so I literally have to decide where I have to live and can't get an idea
from the school itself about what place is better even though I am finding out Royal is good because I've been seeing people's point of view.
Alright that does help and I am coming at the end of December for the classes of premed that are starting in Jan 2012.
Thanks.
516 points I think this is why this is a forum.... PM'ing you will defeat the whole purpose of starting the thread in the first place, isnt it?
Please to everyone else, all comments should be posted on the threading instead of through PMs. This will allow others to read important messages... Except of course it is SUPER private.
510 points Hello I had another question about the phones there...I get it we are offered a phone there but can we use it to call through out the whole world...I mean
how does the plan work? I am asking this because I was considering to buy a new phone and bring it with me to the island.
Thank you,
Somaya.
You will get a very inexpensive phone without all the bells and whistles. You can call anyone anywhere at all, but it's a pay as you go phone. You'll have to top it up periodically depending on how much you use it.
I personally brought my blackberry because I couldn't stand using that piece of crap. But you'll need to have it unlocked. And all iPhones will need to be jailbroken to be used on the island as well.
510 points How come the iphones dont work?
543 points They do work, depending on your firmware version (iOS version) and if you have it unlocked or not. Find somewhere in your town that unlocks iPhones and get it done before coming to the island. Unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself.
