Thread: Horror at jnf airport-new students beware!!!!

I would like to share my horror at JNF International airport on arrival last semester, just so no one else goes thru the same.

After a 9 hr flight, I arrived expecting a WINDSOR SCHOOL OFFICIAL at the airport to receive me, show me housing e.t.c. To my shock and dismay, no windsor school official was at the airport, despite e-mailing them my Itinary 5 times.

I stood waiting for 4 hours, with several pieces of luggage, tried calling the school, but no answer[ No one at the school on a Sunday]. The school doesn't provide new students with an emergency contact incase there is no one at the airport.
The guys responsible for receiving new students/assigning housing had taken a day off/ dosed off,..who knows!!!.

A sympathizer contacted one of the school bus drivers, but the drivers were clueless, as they are not responsible for assigning housing.

Long story short, Come prepared to find NO ONE at the airport; Carry some cash for a cab/hotel (2-3 days) incase no one shows up.

Also, the assignment of housing is really messed up, they drive all the students/parents from place to place, crappy ones first, with all their luggage, and it's a total disaster, especially if you have tonnes of buggage, and are burn't out from a long flight.

I just had my phone interview with Mr.G and at the end he said welcome aboard and that I will be receiving an email on Monday. He told me a little bit about arriving at the airport and waiting for someone to pick me up, but on the email I was going to have more info. Does this means that I got accepted? I applied for September 2011. I guess i should just wait for Monday for the email and take it from there. I am just a little anxious to know more. And start making plans. School starts on Sept 12, 2011 right? I am coming from Seattle, WA. Any ideas on how to get there at a good price? I looked at cheapair.com Flying from Seattle to Miami, and Miami to St.kitts. Total of $560 one way.

I think SWOLL68 meant January 7th 2010. And that was Thursday.

1. Congratulations you have been accepted to WUSOM!!

2. I'm not sure about e - mail on MONDAY because it's basically July 4th. Maybe he meant the next working day; which will be TUESDAY July 5th.

3. WSUOM usually starts during that time of week. You should check some time later in August for update.

4. $560.00 is like in the range zone. Honestly, you should check daily and you might lucky to find below $500.00 one way.

Guys and beautiful girls. PLEASE make sure that you e - mail travel@windsor.edu and let them know the following:

1. Exact date and time you will be ON THE St. Kitts

2. Your flight company and it's number that is LANDING IN THE St. Kitts

3. On personal note, bring few bucks to the island and give it to the person who is transporting you. That way, you will get decent place to live and that would in Frigate Bay area.

docejj, in order to enter the country of St. Kitts they require a return ticket outside of the country. It's a weird requirement but if you show up with only a one way ticket in then you may not be able to enter the country, esp with how much customs has been cracking down on enforcing their rules lately
