Thread: Best/worst Clinicals Sites under Windsor

Where do you get the best clinical experience during core rotations? And which are the worst? Chicago, Atlanta, or Virginia? As in more inpatient access? Any advice or experiences?

I have been told by other students that Chicago is where the majority of the spots are so im guessing thats where the good ones are. as for the others i am not to familiar with them.

Anyone know anything about Las Vegas rotations? Or know anyone there right now?

It all varies on the students needs, Carbondale is a lively area, but if you want to be secluded and just have your rotations, and your apartment with a few friends than Michigan is your best bet. Lastly, I think the last one is Ohio? Not to sure but, I also didn't hear to much on the last one.

Personally, I want Carbondale or Michigan. or even NY if we get it in time [when I finish MD4]

Anyone know which sites are greenbook? I'm reading different things on VMD, it's difficult to sift through the rumors and actual fact.

OBGYN in Chicago. worst, not hands on, no teaching, nothing of value.

Yeah, same here. It seems as if we're being placed into "observerships" which sounds to me like it looking official on paper, but your actual experience being crappy with no learning at all. You're like a third-class citizen in the hospital. Someone needs to clarify.

How can observerships pass off as your clerkship? That's beyond ridiculous. So people in Chicago are just going with the flow and not caring? If we aren't getting real greenbook rotations, why isn't anyone complaining?

That's just my understanding from a post or two on here. I should say that this could very well not be the case, but I made such a statement because that's what it sounds like. If it isn't the case, someone will/should correct me and we should be good. But I'm assuming the worst here, but it's by no means the truth, or close to it. I've been told I have a wild imagination, but the pink elephant balancing on a beach ball in my room corner reassures me they're all just crazy.
