so the free food is just for lunch??? then why the lies or secrecy on their website? they should be straightforward because it portrays a bad image to the school. for example a friend of mine wanted to apply but he said on visiting the school's website, informations weren't clear enough, so he is scared to apply, he is trying otehr carrib schools now.
please can someone clear the air on other issues, just hoping they aren't lies like 16 week usmle training in the states? how can that be possible with different immigration student status.
......free dormintories, free textbooks, free microscopes, free lab and others.
please someone caring should help me out with the truths or half truths because i am coming this may and want to know whats yea and whats not.

the 16 week usmle training refers to the 5th semester that's done in Carbondale, IL. You should realize that no school in the caribbean is going to get you immigration for the US, this is solely the student's responsibility. There are several Nigerian students like yourself that are currently in St. Kitts in both Basic Sciences and Clinicals. You will be offered USMLE training during MD1-4 semesters. You will be ECFMG certified and eligible to take the USMLE Step 1 Exam. Like most Nigerian students, you should complete all of your clinical rotations in St. Kitts or the UK, get good LORs, complete the Step 2, do an observership with USCE, and apply for residency. There are no lies on the WSOM website. WSOM does not charge for textbooks, offers a free lunch to students, and does not have a separate Dormitory charge. However there is a Dorm Maintenance fee to keep the housing in good condition for future students. Please do not bash WSOM. If you are experiencing such difficulties, the WSOM members on ValueMD can only help you so much. If you are confused contact the school and ask all of your questions directly. I hope this "clears the air" for you.

You know what bothers me, I believe those students think that we are working for the school. They asked a question, as a student, you answered, and then they quickly believed that what you told them is a made up story to make them apply to the school.

I told them the same things, food is free, books are free, dorm is included in the tuition, only a maintenance fee applies. But they just want to make life harder as it always is. I am preparing for the board, every time I come here and try my best to help out, answer your emails and PMs, I am either missing an hour that I could have been using doing questions or reading that ton of materials.

The fact that also when I was applying for schools, students from different schools helped me out, I am also thankful and must give something in return. I am not there to misguide you or tell you that there is gold and diamonds when there is only mud and sand.

It will not be in my best interests to make you lose thousands of dollars that you may not even have. It will not bring a dime in my pocket to let you waste a loan that you will have to repay by any mean necessary. If you believe what we told you is unclear, doubtful and misleading, please just chose what is best for you and let it be, for all sakes.

The issues of non visa holder, no green card holder, and else have been already discussed. You must make sure that you do some simple researches in the forum as well. We can't just take time off our schedules helping you out all the time.

There are what we can tell you, and there are stuff you will have to figure out yourself. It only takes a few words in the search engine for the best or the worst to come scrolling on your monitor. Please, again, understand that we are also students, and helping you is just helping us by being among those who have this blessed opportunity to be in medical schools.

You are all that matters to us, and we don't have any affiliation, promoters or employees of the school. We are paying out of our pockets, loan grabbers, or just broke and can't pay at all. Windsor will not give us a rebate for telling you to apply to the school, and they will not do us favors, such as giving us better grades to keep us around. If this is the school you are bargaining for, like many fools in here have written in bold letters in their bashing glories, you get it wrong. To get out of Windsor, you will have to bleed to the last drop, i mean it a good way.

You will have to study and spit it like your drying internal organs. If you heard the passing score here is 60 percent of the grades, that includes minis, weekly exams and 4 major exams. But, believe me, you will not get out of this place by one mark. I went through it, and I had to retake the exams as well.

All the time I was here helping you out, I had retakes and that was a pain. If you are serious about school, about your future and about having to do well in this field, start by making the sacrifices as of now. The school offers clinical seminars and offers USMLE training from the first day you step in your class.

It's mandatory as well. If you don't believe us, ask those who had to stay behind because they did not attend class or did not sign for the classes. Don't listen to those who may want to make you believe that you are about to bargain for what you pay for. Windsor is cheap, yes. Windsor has free food, yes; free books, yes; free passing grades, NO. Some will even tell you that others schools have better profs, sure, of course. But they will never tell you how many of those profs can't even pass the shelf exams in the subjects that they are teaching you. Ask around!

Windsor has quality instructors, and they are not bragging about them on the web site. They have Indians and Black professors. Those are men and women who passed the board with top scores, and those who were involves in researches before they start teaching. The youngest professors are actually set for the match this year, and they are the best that we had here in Carbondale.

They know what they were teaching and no bull stuff. Just straight to the point and no questions beaters (memorizers), like many fools would have thought they would have been. I tried to avoid the endless arguments with some folks in here, and trying to tell them that because the school is not bragging about what it has and owns will not make any difference.

To everyone his/her ultimate school. I was just like that when I was at my former school. But what they will not tell you is that they also have holes that even the moon cannot fill. They will not tell you that they have exposed and borrowed the names of professors who are not teaching at their schools to just make them the lust and lure of this growing market. It's a business! The more you brag, pop names, the many collective souls you will gather. Listen well! You have the choices, and it's your future.

We can tell you this school is a paradise, and further down the road, you find out that's it is hell hole. Like I said, we are not lying to you to make us feel good and promote dimes and big bucks in the pockets of those folks. many of us come to this school as rejects, second chance mediocre, transferred students looking for cheaper schools, or just folks who want to change their lives by going back to school.

Many of us here are fathers, mothers, or plainly independent students. Though the school has a fountain of young students, by being among mature folks, they also adopted a sense of let's get it done and have fun at the end. We party like animals, too, but we make sure we have the job done. If we fail, we go back to the drawing board and head for the best.

This school, gives you the opportunities that other schools will not give you. Some school will kick you out after you failed a class a second time. Windsor gives its students the benefit of the doubts. The administrators believe that students may have some difficulties adapting to their new environment, classes, other students, and may also have personal problems.

What the dean and the school president do, after a look at your grades, is that they talk to you, tell you what you need to do and offer you to retake the exams after you have failed. And if you failed again, they will still allow you to retake the class a 3rd time, I mean after the extra exams, and then, they will let you go....(If you are smart, tell them you want another crack at the exam and ask for tutoring)

Now
you may want to argue with me and tell me that's plain stupidity. No. many of those who were given so many chances ended up passing the board exams, and are doing well. This is to prove to you that people really have different ways of learning, and for some, it may take months to just decipher the simplest thing. But when they know it, it's magical.... Ok, sorry for this long bullet.... If you want our help, we are there to tell you what we know. We can't hide what we don't have a clue about. To do so is a sin, a crime and inhumane.

I have kids (many more in the wild), and if I know that someone would just mislead them, I would go to the extreme to get at you. We are not promoters and marketers, we are just students.

I hope you get it!
