Pre-requisites

Hey WindsorMD,
i see that you have done a lot of research on this pre-requisite matter. Could you advice me also please? I have a professional bachelers degree in medical lab technology and a masters in medical microbiology from India. My subjects in undergraduate were not physics , chemistry etc but biochemistry, microbiology, hematology etc. Would i have any kind of problem in licensing? So do the states mention about the requirements as these particular subjects for licensure?
Your help is greatli appreciated!
Thanks!!!

Get An Undergraduate Degree from the US or CANADA Before Coming Here !
Completing All 10 Semesters At Windsor Will Get You An Md Degree, But What's The Point Of Having An Md Without A Residency !

Think Before You Apply
Do Thorough Research
Don't Just Come Here Because Your Parents Want You To Be In Medical School !!
I am a highschool graduate and i have read and heard that i would not be able to practice in or even find residency in the US becasue i need 60-90 UNDERGRADUATE credit hours if i come directly to Windsor. I contacted Windsor about this topic and their reply was Quote,

"When you graduate from us, we give enough course work that is extra that would meet the undergrad requirements of 60-90 credits that would reflect on your transcript. we do this as we take into consideration into all the state boards the student want to apply and practice. we have extensive knowledge on this and we will advise you."

so do you guys have any comments? on that quote?
i just want to get this straigtened out. so i dont have an degree and find out i cant practice.

From what I know, the premed program does not count towards anything back in the states. Instead of going to the school, my best bit of advice is to try calling the medical licensure board of a particular state that you are interested in. The websites have been listed throughout the thread. Also, i believe getting into residency isn't a problem.

Need to know a bit more about Windsor......

Hi,
I am currently a Senior in High School and I am planning to attend Windsor, as soon as I get my High School Diploma, several of my friends have attended Windsor without having any college units. They advise me to to go directly to a med rather than obtaining any college units. Is it true that people can do that...... or is it rather safe to obtain college units and then apply for a med school?
Please let me know.

Thanks,
dprabhakar

Thanks soo much. But is Windsor the only school that requires college units or do all schools in the Caribbean require college units?
Please do let me know.
