no not necessarily. completing the requirements at WSOM will get you an MD, even a residency, but not necessarily a State Licence to practice in unless you have completed at least 60-90 units in UNDERGRAD (ie- Bachelors of whatever program)
This thread is for those students who come straight out of high school into the the pre-med program. They will have a LOT of trouble finding a state to licence them to practice EVEN IF THEY GET A RESIDENCY!!!

they clearly stated that the minimum requirements for a person applying for a medical license in the state of Illinois must complete 60 units of undergraduate work (2 years) to be able to get licensed

i dont know about the above post....call the state board for yourself to find out.

Here is a link to help back up your statement:

I'm not sure if this is the reason but I believe it may have something to do with it....For people that go to school India and started school out in India, they take the equivalent of the required basic science courses that are taken in undergrad for around 2 yrs. Most kids start doing this at the age of 16! From there, they go on and start medical school at 18. There might be more to it, but I believe this is the reason why they don't have issues with licensing.
