WMD,

WinGrad04 is a prefect example to the answer to your question. As he stated he did rotations in IL and is licensed in a non-ACGME state. So as long as you do your clerkships and get a residency spot. Its safe to say that you can get licensed in a non-ACGME requiring state.

And if you look at the list of WINDSOR residents we have as well as the grads that have licenses...currently we have GRADS/RESIDENTS in the following states..FL, IL, OH, MI, GA, WI, VA, TN, ME, AL, OK, MN, AR, NV, CT, MO .

I do not know were most of the students did their rotations but it varies from student to student. Coming to Windsor most students know that there are states were they can't do rotations. If you can manage to do all ACGME rotations than more states open up. Good Luck...and stay positive.

When you say "clerkships", are you referring to anything different from what WindsorGrad04 did (i assume he didn't go through any GMC office and got rotation evaluations signed by a doctor)...

residency is not the problem...as long as you have good scores and LOR's you are fine...its getting a license in certain states that might pose a problem...

like I said, might....check what the mod posted to find out the requirements for each state you want to be in...then find out where you get your rotations and whatnot....I dont know if it will be a problem or not...I'm in the same boat as you as I embark on my rotations soon...
