Medical Education in the United States

Issue 131 - August 28, 2008

**********************************************

2009 INFORMATION BOOKLET / APPLICATION MATERIALS ARE AVAILABLE

The ECFMG 2009 Information Booklet and exam application materials are
now available. To access the ECFMG Information Booklet, visit the ECFMG
website at ECFMG® | Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. To apply for examination, use ECFMG's
Interactive Web Application (IWA), also available on the ECFMG website.

For Step 1/Step 2 CK, you can use the 2009 application to apply for:

- available Step 1/Step 2 CK eligibility periods ending in 2008
(September 2008 - November 2008 and October 2008 - December 2008) and

- all Step 1/Step 2 CK eligibility periods ending in 2009, beginning
with the November 2008 - January 2009 eligibility period.

For Step 2 CS, you can use the 2009 application to obtain a 12-month
eligibility period that begins on the date that the processing of your
application is completed.

Exam applications are saved in IWA for 14 days from the date you last
saved the application. If you have begun but not yet completed the
on-line part of a 2008 exam application, you will be able to complete
the on-line part of that saved application using the 2009 application
materials.

Individuals who apply for examination are required to read the USMLE
Bulletin of Information, in addition to the ECFMG Information Booklet.
The USMLE 2009 Bulletin of Information is available on the USMLE website
at United States Medical Licensing Examination™.
