It is harder to get into vet school than medical school

I just learned from my friends and statistics from the web that it is harder to get into a vet school in the United States than to get into medical school. It surprises me.

pretty much

There are only 28 veterinary schools in the United States. Depending on the year 50-60% of the students that apply get rejected. A strong GPA and many documented hours of veterinary experience is needed, both in small and large animals.

The thing I find most iteresting, too, is that vets incomes are really low. Until they pay for their office, assistants, insurance, overhead, they have like about $40K left each year.

Depends on how you are defining it. I think they mean that a lower percentage of people are accepted to vet school than medical school. This isn't the same thing as having a higher GPA, standardized test score, etc.
