Just finished my exam. Wow - feels like a tornado passed by.
The whole exam is a waste of time and energy for everyone. It is not EASY , in the first hand. More than 50% of the exam is sheer common sense than subject.
#1 - the questions are made by SADISTS. They are made in a way that YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ANSWER THEM. They say Step 3 is for evaluating a person's skill to practice as a GP. But more than 80% of the questions are MORE THEORETICAL than practical.
Complete reading of topics is the answer. Do not relax and just read the diagnostic part and treatment. That is the least they ask. Symptoms (even rare ones and all sorts of management - including therapies - PT,OT,Psycho.
More important is - WHAT SHOULD NOT BE DONE in SOME CASES and WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF EACH AND EVERY MEDICATION.
CCS - is the easiest part actually. Never panic. I did all 9 cases fine - missed one point is one or two cases but all of them improved and ended nicely. I wish they made one day MCQ and anotehr day CCS alone with 15 cases. Not kidding guys. You will defnitely score more in CCS. It is more relaxing than the damn MCQ where U jump b/w surgery,IM,peds,OBGYN every minute.

As of the books - based on my experience and not what I studied.

OBGYN, Surgery,Psych - Kaplan is enough and Lotssssss of MCQs, ESPECIALLY FROM WAHEED FORUM (read just recalls). I got atleast 7 recalls "word-by-word" from this forum.
IM - Kaplan topics are enough BUT - READ THEM THROUGHLY WITH REFERENCE.
Attend Live lectures. It is 1000 times better than the videos. Do not use Kaplan videos - waste of time and money.
