CCS

CCS
1. Young women in DKA and UTI Her UTI did not get better till end.

2. Homeless man with cough and white sputum and SOB. I did HIV test it was negative. did every thing but did not get better. He did not have fever or high wbc, so I did not give him abx. I dont know what was that.

3. G6PD deffi

4. GERD

5. Complete Heart block.

6. 46 yr AA female with fatigue. TSH was normal. Did all the workup.
7. cystic fibrosis.

8. uti with pregnancy.

9. Trichomonas vaginitis.
I did bad in 4 ccs out of 9 did not know what is going on. you have to be careful about time. When working on ccs time is not enough.

ccs

I took the test yesterday and here is my ccs qs.
1-intussusception--kid was brought by his mother to office so after I examin him sent him to Er and xay showed the diag. called pads surgery and barium enema
2-cystic fibrosis--again kid was brought to office for not gaining wt. but was not in distress, no active symptoms, sent him home with lbs and when came back confirmed diag of cydtic fibrosis, panc enzyme, vaccine, geneic counse, multi vit, diet consult.
3- panic attack-- gave one dose of alprazolam and put him on paroxitin, then screen showed that pt. never had attack again
Lung cance- confirmed by bronchoscopy and biopsy and onco was consulted.
4-preg. with UTI responded v well to ABX and when came back to office I did prenatal testing and repeated the UA case ended
5-Diverticulitis cepro and flagyl responded v well
6-DKA and MI this was tough in the sense I couldnt send the pt. home long mgt.
7-hypothyroidism--I forgot to do lipid profile other wise when sh came back I did pap smear and ordered mamo cause she was 44 and no mammo befor
8-asthma case
I think USMLE world is very helpfl to pactice for ccs, good luck and I will try to writ soe MCQ too very soon good luck

ccs

1. Atelectasis= once you did spirometry and bronchoscopy the case will end. cheer up
2. fatigue with borderline hypertension.
3. fatigue and FOBT +ve. but it will come to erosive gastritis.
4. bilateral infiltrates (PCP
5. Lead poisoning in child
6. G6PD
7. Trauma basic management.
8. poisoning basic management. may b it was opiod ?

CCS cases strategy

Thanks everyone for your contributions. The list of cases on here are a great resource.
I find the notes on UW (usmle world) and FA (First Aid) good for study.
The interactive CCS cases on US123 (usmle ***** ***.com) are good for practice.

with CCS, is the diagnosis usually pretty obvious after the initial H &P? one just has to then order things algorithmically?
