exam experience

hi guys,i am a silent observer of this site for 2-3 mths.i gave my test on 28 of july.it was a very difficult one.i dont know what happened on that day,may be i ran out of luck.it was very difficult to keep my time as the questions were very vague.i did uw once and scored 65% but be very true it was not a great help may be 4-5Q were look alike,i think one should have a clear mind and not to study extra material which would confuse u like rare things/syndromes.just do the basics and apply them on the day of exam,u dont know what they will ask u.be sure that u have done path, pharm and micro from step1.i got lot of Q on paeds and I.D and too many on skin and lot of x rays which were soo bad that i use to wonder what the hell r they.i got 4-5 ecg which were i think on electrolytes and one on pericardites.yes i wanna tell u guys lot of m.o.a of drugs.i was very heavily tested on ob/gyn.lots and lots of graphs on labour and then they ask what next.i didnt get any q on surgery but lots on pre op and post op care.2-3 q on stats which were like on the end of the block and to my bad luck i couldnt finish them.i was a very unlucky guy as initially i use to get very short statements but they r soooooooo vague that it use to take around 1 min to rule out things and then write an ans and in the end the statements were to long but quite easy as u know what is the diagnoses and then u can choose an ans, thats what i think were correct.i would tell u guys this exam is not of knowledge but of enduarance.i think one should stick to one book which i find was cmdt is the best,go thru it once and then be dependent on kaplan notes.for skin i have gone thru the atlas of skin to understand it but the exam was different, like i got a photograph on psoriasis but they asked me about the pathogenesis of the disease.i dont remember what particular other topics they ask but lots and lots of Q on i.d and then they will ask u the gram stain findings,so in 1 min first u make a diognoses then think the organism and then the stain findings, difficult to manage time.Ah yes i got 12-13 Q on preventive med and emergencies.no Q on trauma and very few on cadiology.if someone wanna do good in exam i wish he should be very thru with pulmonology, diff and lots of Q.its like they dont wanna test ur knowledge they wanna test ur patience and ur conc, memory comes in the end.if i could have got another 20 min extra i can surely go close to the Q but not in an hour.i have not done nbme as i didnt have time.i finished my uw in 19 days revised my notes and went for the exam.i am very scared as i dont know what will happen to my result and i ask u guys to plase pray for me.if any one wanna any thing i will surely answer them
bye guys ,good luck for ur exam.
