step 2 experience

Hey guys
Just gave my step 2 yesterday.I studied for around 5 months and used only Kaplan notes.I have to say they are more than enough .I had enough time for each block .The question were not at all long or complicated infact I had around 15 in each block which were really straight forward and the rest were such that if u read really carefully they have some point there which we tend to miss the first time so with me I could come up with the answer after reading the question 2 to three times.I could do that bec I usually finished everyblock 10 to 15 min before and then I would go back and do the marked question.I never leave a question incomplete I always attempted it so that just incase if I didn’t have time to go back atleast I wouldn’t leave anything incomplete .Some of the questions in each block are definetly such that u really don’t have any answer and u don’t know what to choose but they are just a few.
Mostlky the exam has medicine ,foll by peads , gynea and psychiatry which are equally balanced and surgery very very few questions.
Usmle world is a great source sp the explanantions .I studied that really well and made notes of all the explanations and read them before the exam twice.
I did have a few of step 1 questions but u don’t need to go over step 1 to do them.I am sure anybody can answer them.I have step 1 questions I think 1 from biochem 1 from immunology and a couple from genetics.
It was definetly a better exam than step 1 I ould say bec in step 1 they give a lot of question u have no clue of and they are not in the kaplan notes but with step 2 it is more like tu know about the subject in the question but the choices are hard to pick and u get stuck between 2 choices.i think the toughes questions were psychiatry and ethics bec with them u can never tell what the answer would be
The question sources I did were
Q book 78%
Q bank 80%
Kaplan simulated cd 78%
Usmle cd 90%
Usmle world I did 1500 questions around 70 to 76%
I had a little problem bec my computer shut down as soon as I finished the 6 th block but the guy at the center restared it and told me not to worry bec everything in the test was saved .I have my fingers crossed.Lets see how it goes
