Is 51% average on new Kaplan qbank good enough to safely take the exam?

    Advertisements

I did kaplan qbank all timed mode. I have done usmleworld tutor mode and averaged 62%. As per the Kaplan qbank's score estimator the 51% translates into a 191 on the actual exam.

Should I go ahead with the exam? I would like to hear from everyone, especially those who did do the new kaplan qbank. (I am retesting for this exam just so do factor that in).

    Thank you all in advance!

The new Kaplan qbank is much more difficult then the old one was.Very few questions have student correct percentages so its impossible to know how you compare to the average student taking an exam. Its very good practice but dont trust your score or their estimator its not very accurate. Usmleworld and of course nbme have data collected from thousands of students and can give u a better estimate as to how you are doing overall. 62% on uworld is pretty good take an nbme exam to see where you are at.
Well, he's had it in for me ever since I "kinda" ran over his dog. Actually, replace "kinda" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Have you taken the actual test yet?

I am assuming you did Kaplan qbank yourself and have taken the exam. So what was the correlation(provided you took the exam)?

I have taken the test and did 50% of the NEW KAPLAN Q-bank and the actual test was nothing like it, kaplan q-bank is very very very picky and tough BUT the length of questions is similar, the real exam have some very long questions kinda like kaplan q-bank. So i would recommend you take NBME #2 and #3 and that should be very close to your actual score..GOOD LUCK

I've got about the same practice scores as you did on kaplan and usmle world. Did the real exam go ok for you?

    Got my score report !

I got 87% and 212 for the 3 digit score! I will post my whole study strategy and the way I prepared on a new thread so that I can help all the step2 CK testers on this site. I actually listened to a what a lot of different students had to say on here while I was preparing. I think hard work combined with a good and solid study plan are the key. I wish I studied this way for step1.
