which one first... CK or CS?

I have some time to go before I take the two parts of Step 2 having only completed two rotations. But was wondering if there is a choice in which I could take first? And what do you recommend that is taken first? and why? Thank you in advance...

md90, i can't speak for everyone, but my plan is this (and we took our step 1 almost at the same time)...

i'm taking my step 2cs in may, and my step 2ck in july. this way, all 3 exam scores will be reported by aug 2007, just in time to submit my ERAS application. looks really good to have all 3 on sept 1st.

step 2cs takes longer to be reported for one, and two, it has some harder requirements starting July of this year. so just in case you failed (which you shouldn't), you still might have a chance to take it again so that you match in 2008. but i wouldn't take any board exam (especially a $1200 one) unless i was very confident i would pass.

My experience:
Psych, Medicine, Ob.Gyn, family medicine cores were done.
I also did a GI elective and ambulatory medicine elective.

Took the CS exam May 16, 2007.
Last week I got my score report that I passed the test.

I plan to take the CK Aug. 3rd, 2007.

Overall, if you think you have good clinical skills and can take a good H/P take the CS as soon as you can and get it out of the way.
The only book I used was First Aid for CS and it was right on the money!

At least this way i will have my CK AND CS scores in by Sept 1st when my application goes out!

Good luck!
