How to work up syncope

Syncope is an important CSA topic. We suggest two pathways depending on your history and physical examination. 1. Cardiac and 2. Neurological.
In the history and physical ALWAYS explore the possibility of postural hypotension!
1. Cardiac: EKG, 24 hr Holter and cardiac echo (to r/o AS).
2. Neurological: Carotid doppler, EEG, CTscan of HEAD.
ALSO include CBC and electrolytes in your lab W/U
