What is your mental check list of the differential diagnosis? This should be the first thing you do. From the differential diagnosis, you can come up with questions to ask.

What is the patient age?

Did you wash your hands before you touch the patient?

Did you try to feel for cervical lymphadenopathy?

Did you look into the mouth for pharyngeal exudates and other abnormal?

Did you auscultate the heart?

Did you auscultate the lungs?

Did you try to palpate for splenectomy and hepatomegaly? If your differential diagnoses include mononucleosis then you need to do this.

Sounds like she has more issues than sore throat.....
