took the exam today

exam wasn't too bad
I think Kaplan notes were the best preperation and secrets in my opinion... qbook, qbank, NMS, USMLE CD, Swanson, are your best bet...
This exam was do able....but definetly long and hard.....
Like that one post that came on before... KNOW your Neuerology... whoa that was high yield.. there was a lot of neuroantomy in particular with the lesions...
Peds was well represented on my exam..alot of neonatology.. and the immune disease of pediatrics..i.e. agammaglobulimenia..brutons, CGD, know those they are high yield...
Ob Gyn...that was well distributed...
Pyschiatry was tricky... but there were plenty
Trauma.. that was big...
know your types of shocks they asked alot on my exam...
hmmmm
not too many ECGs..only had 2
I didn't get too many of those high yield skin dz problems...like pityrosea, tinea versicolor, ect..but thats good to know..
you people should not stress about the pharm.. its simple and basic..
and know your infectious disease or yourr basic microbiology from step 1..
pathophsiology is the way to exceed, meaning understand the mechanism of the causes and effects of diseases and treatment... its not something you can memorize.. for those who are wondering how to study or prepare for pathophysiology. this exam is a test of your understanding of the clinical and aplication of your basic science to the clinical science...so try to understand the general pathology of the disease...
hope all this made sense..
hmmmm
hope that helps..
hope I passed... wish me luck....
p.s. night before.. just get a good night sleep and relax which will be hard to do but thats the best bet......
