Just took Step 2.

Well, Ithought that it would be hard but instead it wasn't. It was HARDER than I could have imagined. Over all some of the basic questions were on like Child Development (milestones) and some basic pharmacology like Trazodone and the perpetual erection. But then there were these....questions...that had answers that you had to say to yourself "Self, are any of these answers realted to the question...at all" I'm hoping that those were the experimental questions. It was needless to say a long day. Once I had finished, I went to my car and slept for close to an hour. Hopefully this will not have to be repeated. I will try to write down as many questions as I can remember. I can tell you this much, there were alot of questions with a 50+ year old male or female with dyspnea. Strange question about a wasp bite and the Pt. having a reaction. what do you do first? answers were a) remove stinger, b)give epinephrine, c) give something else. Well luckily I remebered that wasps don't have stingers only bees do. I am not able to rmeber alot but I will keep trying and let everyone know.

wow

Congratulations on being done with it!! :P

Thanks for sharing your experience and please remember to share questions that you tackled. How many hours did you study for the exam? What materials did you use that you thought worked best. Also do you think your basic sciences training prepared you well for it?

I will try to remember more.

but i thought

hey, thanks for ur post and i'm sure u'll b fine, of course the recovery i'm sure will b a while....
i just wanted to say that i hear ppl say that u usually remember the questions u get wrong but i know when i did my step 1 the ones i remembered were the basic ones that i know i got right.
as in ur case, u seem to mention the basic questions for step 2, and this to me seems like we tend to remember the ones we got right instead of the ones we got wrong(make sense?,lol)...
anyways, good luck, i'm doin my step 2 on monday....

....ecg was shown and i noticed the tall peaked t waves in pretty much all leads...
...photo of a rash....herpes..
....placenta acretta since retained placenta even after pulling...
....dic....
....itp, ttp....
...ped(no milestones, but immunization).
...adult immunisations..
...preventive med and screening tests in man with colon cancer history, woman with no cancer history and over 35 yrs age..

hmmmmmmm...i'm sure there was more, (obviously) but i can't seem to recall more...

the distribution was definitely equal and i'm glad i spent time reading peds in my last wk...
good luck to all and i just pray to God that i don't have to take this again.
