my life. CK 1st attempt 177/67

I am crushed this morning. After struggling so hard and for so long at step 1, finally passing it on 4th attempt with a pathetic score of 193/78, I decided I would do things a lot differently when i studied for step 2. So i sat down and made a schedule. 6 months of hardwork, all kaplan books twice and all Uworld twice. I took the Uworld practice exam and got a comfortable pass, I took the NBME and got a comfortable pass. I was confident I could pass CK on the first try. I got my score this morning and now I am living my worst nightmare. This exam makes all my effort a complete joke and I am having a really difficult time contemplating if I even have it in me to study again or just call it quits

i still would tell you to go to usml eagle. Best decision i have ever made for step 1 and step 2

No offense. But its over. You cant get a residency with pasing on your 4th try on step 1 and failing step 2 and considering your step 1 score. Sorry.

Normally a student is either good on Basic Science or Clinical knowledge you cannot be bad in both. In my case I know my strength is practical and CK so after failing STEP 1, I decided to take CK2. Took a course with Ximedus for 5 days and I pass. Now I feel more confident I'll be tackling CK1 I love the clinical part as I hate basic science. I'm very confident that I'll pass too. I'm currently working right now to earn extra money. I'm the type of person who benefits a lot from taking courses so I'll probably look around I've heard a lot of goodthings about the eagle program I believe the Doctor in Ximedus recommend that program to me when I asked her regarding a review course for step 2.
Maybe it's a good time to take a break in Medicine some people are so fix in schedule that they get too s tress. I pass that stage, I take things slow now doing things that would boost my confidence.I've heard playing golf builds confidence too. Final suggestion I know for some people money is really an issue and they cannot take a course I think working for 6 months would not hurt you that would even look good in your CV showing how dedicated you are. Taking short course as a assistant to a surgeon might help too just to get a job in the hospital then meeting the program director bypassing the whole ERAS thing. Good luck to you. For everything there is a season, don't loose your hope. Without a vision a man would perish. I'm sure you will be able to get into residency someday, don't let go of your dream you've come way too far, spend so much money in education and parents who are so proud of you.
