Acromegaly secondary to a pituitary tumor....may compress on the OPTIC CHIASMA producing BITEMPORAL HEMIANOPSIA
I agree acromegaly and bitemporal hemianopsia.
Acromegaly is a disease resulting from excess secretion of GH in adulthood. The bones increase in thickness and there is abnormal growth of soft tissues. Patients show overgrowth of the hands and feet, the tongue and the bones of the lower jaw (prognathism) and face. They also complain of headaches and visual disturbances due to causal pituitary tumors and are prone to carpal tunnel syndrome. Due to the anti insulin actions of growth hormone they have abnormal glucose tolerance and because of some overlap in actions with prolactin many show gynecomastia and or galacthrrhea.
