I hope those who were in this situation can help you. You will rock it next time for sure it just sucks being only a few pts shy of passing but maybe next time u will break the 200s.
I was wondering how long did it take for u to get ur results cause i wrote mine a couple of weeks ago and the wait is driving me crazy!!!!!
Good Luck
I recieved a 173 on my first try. I then took a review course called the pass program in champaign , IL. It was a 4 week course. I then studied for 4 weeks more on my own, hitting pharm really hard in the first aid since that was my weakest subject. I took the nmbe practice tests this time which i hadn't before and recieved a 330 4 weeks out and a 420 2 weeks out. So all in all I only took 2 months more to study and I got a 200 this time on the usmle. Good luck, derek
For my part,it is much better to fail with 73 than pass with 75 c'ose it won't help you.my friend got 76 since 98 and he never enter the residency program.
hit FA, Goljan ,qbank and level your self with nbme ,if it's more than 400
got and do it.
Muntu
where can i get more info on nmbe practice tests, is there a specific place u have to go to take it, or can we register online and do them.
thanks
Unlike what he says, It is preferable to pass with a 75 first try then to fail and then get a high score later. the ERAS system allows programs to put parameters on their applications viewed. the most commonly used parameter is the one that will not allow them to view any apps of people who have failed. at my program, we are interviewing now. we have hada coupel with 75s get interviews, but you wont get a shot if you have ever failed. I am now currently applying for fellowships, and the apps all ask for your number of attempts to pass each step, not a single one asks for your scores(they will see them with your transcripts later anyways). I was told they just use that question to weed out people right from the start. a couple fo the apps actually ask the number fo attempt question immediately after your name. sorry to hear that the OP failed, and was so close. by the way, the other comment about not getting a job with 75s? I knew a few people who had the exact same score, and all got numerous interviews, and all matched.
can u please let me knwo the programs that want to know the number of attempts rather than socres?
thanks
