NEW STEP 1, STEP 2 Program in Florida-*********

I've frequented these boards for years, but never posted because I felt that I did not have much to contribute. My friends, i am please to announce that my life has changed drastically in the last 10 weeks. I finally have something to contribute that I know will change lives. I am currently taking the ********* program, and was excited to see its mention on value md, because it has been my little secret weapon. I thought nobody knew about it, but I guess the word is getting out. THIS PROGRAM AND ITS PEOPLE ARE INCREDIBLE!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm that guy who chose to go to medical school for the wrong reasons. The guy you saw partying it up on the island, getting caught up in the wrong things, and basically wasting mom and dads money. You know the cocky, over-confident guy who has already started talking about residencies and practicing, without even worrying about step 1.My thinking was "hey I got through basic sciences partying, so the boards should be no problem, plus I got mommy and daddies connections."

So I made it off the island, like many of us, but boy did I get a rude awakening on my return to the mainland. The economy was down, mommy and daddy cut funds off, and reality kicked in....."I have 3 months to take the most important test of my life and I really dont know s***t." So I signed up for Kaplan because someone told me its the gold standard and has the highest pass rate. In retrospect I could have taken any course PASS, FALCON, PRINCETON REVIEW, it wouldn't have mattered. All the programs are basically the same, they sell you books and lecture all day, and at the end its all about the time an effort an individual puts in. I own almost every step 1 resource you could and 80% of them have the same material, obviously there are some that are mandatory and superior, but my point is that it really does not matter what you use because no resource will be 100% and you can not learn everything.

I was delusional and had made the mistake of lying to myself, thinking I could scam my way through step 1 without putting in an honest effort. I was never ready, not even close. After Kaplan I studied my way (half-*** way) and delayed my test to the last day possible. Two week before the exam some sense kicked in and I cancelled my test. AT THIS POINT I HAD NOTHING TO SHOW, JUST ANGRY PARENTS, AND A BUNCH OF LIES TO KEEP PEOPLE OFF MY BACK. I gave up, got a job and worked for a year. Never opened a single book.

Then one day I get a phone call from one of my island friends that changed my life. He was like "YO! I know your clowning around, but if your serious, there is this program that just started down in florida, and I guarantee you will pass." At first I was a little skeptic and to be honest my life's trajectory was heading the opposite direction. I recently got engaged, and was starting to make a little money, and was content with my decision to give up on med school. My friend convinced me to come down to *********, he was like "what do you got to lose, dont give up that easily."

So I get down here and the first thing I do is tell DR. N, our guru/professor that I have little to no knowledge, never took step 1, and have not opened a book in a year. Can you help me? Without any hesitation she looks at me and says "absolutely!"

I have learned more in the last 10 weeks, then I did in 2 years of Basic sciences. This program focuses on the individual, everyone is different and requires an honest unbiased analysis in formulating an efficient approach. If I could only use one word to describe this program it would be "INTIMATE." The first day here you are given an NBME, depending on your results DR. N creates an individualized program.

The tutors here are amazing, and keep you motivated, something you do not get from the big programs. All the people teaching are here because they truly care and are damn good at what they do. The approach is all-inclusive. Some people think that this test is all about knowledge, from my view its maybe 30% knowledge and 70% psychological. The notes are incredible, they are the best and most complete I have ever seen. The one on one tutoring is priceless, you learn how to attack the exam and build confidence. Believe it or not, there are little tips and tricks that do work!!! and from what past "eagles" have told me helped increase their step 1 score by 20-40 points.

I love the support we get, unlike other programs where you get the material, but everything else is on you. The tutors keep track of how many questions your doing, and make sure you are not wasting your time or theirs. The program is the only one of its kind, there are no more than 20 people in our class, which is why the experience is so personal. The small class sizes, prometric center simulated testing room, one on one tutoring, daily micro/pharm/path drills, and constant coaching have brought me from zero knowledge to weeks away from taking my exam.

Lecture is every other day, because whats the use of going to lecture everyday if you don't get the time to soak it in. The off days are great I cover the previous days material, keep up with questions, and get to clarify confusing topics with my tutor.

I do not know if there is a waiting list or not, but if you want to know more pm me or checkout out the website *********.com

I will make sure to let everyone know how things turn out. As of right now, the confidence I have gained, and the concept based approach to learning material has given me the drive. I have a REASON AS TO WHY I WANT TO BE A DOCTOR NOW. After step 1, I plan on coming straight back to knock step 2 out as well.

Wow this is a long first post! KEEP READING!

The one thing I have learned is that anything is possible. I know there are many people on the forums that have failed their exams, or for one reason or another have lost motivation. Don't worry guys, as long as there are programs like *********, there is hope. In the words of ROCKY BALBOA:

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are,
it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
You, me, or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life.

But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward.
How much you can take and keep moving forward.
That’s how winning is done ! Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth.
But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers,
saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody ! Cowards do that, and that ain’t you!”.

    ‘Rocky’ Balboa

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON THEIR STUDIES!

That program was great before, but it has fallen apart in the last year and a half. Dr. N only cares about money, she told a few of us we are ready for the test, and no one passed. She fights with students, and then when she is annoyed with you, she refuses to see you and tells you to take the test just to get you to leave, and then when you fail, she said "I knew you would fail, I told you not to take it". She can't keep any of her employees, she tells the students lies, and has NO disclosure. She talks badly/complains about the students to other students. Since I was there, maybe 1 or 2 people passed all the rest of us failed. The employees don't care about the students, they gossip worse than the students! Dr. N is clearly using her tutors also. She tells them she will help with residency, but then makes excuses to keep them there....without paying them. She has kept her main tutor from going back to medical school, im pretty sure he is still there. Being an educator, her treatment of her CLIENTS is horrendous. She doesn't help any of the step 2 or 3 students, in fact she keeps canceling their classes! I was very disappointed, and bridges have definitely been burned.

I am sadly disappointed and troubled after reading such an accusation that holds absolutely no water.

I am at the program currently and have had first hand interactions such as 1 on 1 tutoring sessions, lectures and casual conversations with Dr. N and she is NOT the type of person you are trying to claim her to be.

Dr. N has the biggest heart that I've ever been able to witness. Unlike, Kaplan and Pass programs, she actually cares about the students and wants to see them succeed in the medical field. Dr. N stays at the program from morning until around 8-9 PM teaching students and seeing them 1 on 1 so that she can direct you in the right direction. If it wasn't for Dr. N, I would be completely lost, she has given me the ability to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am very thankful for her for that. Dr. N even orders all of us food when we have lectures, what other program do you know does that?

There have been many students that I've spoken to that have been failing their Step 1 or Step 2 CK multiple times, but after taking this program, they pass their exam! =]

The staff at this program is very friendly and they work around each of the students problems. The tutors are great and very knowledgable.

All these claims @antieagle is making is NOT true. It's sad to see someone try to attack a program that has been giving us IMG and US medical students an amazing chance to rock our scores and get Residency.

    Dear reZURrekta,
I have given exact details of the program, and you are stating generalities about Dr. N and her program. I thought she was very kind and the course was great also, but my opinion eventually changed, as will yours. Your "casual" conversations you refer to, are them gossiping, and her venting about people behind their backs. Have the numerous errors in the book and lectures been corrected yet? and is the main tutor still leaning back in his chair pretending to listen, throwing the basketball against the wall, and saying "I don't know, you tell me". And from my understanding, Dr. N still comes in late...in the afternoon, and gets started so late....that's why she is there till late night because she is so behind.

Everyone buys into the hype initially, but you will see after a while...and I encourage you speak to students who have been there for a while...no one will disagree. I'm posting for the benefit of others, you are already there, and I can see it has been a while since you have responded, so I am sure by now you are realizing things I have said. I am just trying to save other people the stress, time, and money.

What you are saying is very unrealistic...you do realize that right? "everyone who I have talked to in the course and after taking the course an getting a 90+ on their USMLE Step 1 or Step 2" That in itself makes the course sound bogus, and those are your words! And you are telling me that I am sitting in front of a computer replying to threads?! LOL your response was almost immediate, thus furthering my suspicion that you work for the course... And as I hear the two best tutors voluntarily left...I wonder why?

I have recently completed this course a few months ago. I have to agree with reZURrekta. I took step 1 when I was told to take it by Dr N. I scored a 223 on it. I could not have done this without them. I would have to say Dr N is one of the most caring individuals that I have met. I personally know 2 other people that went to the program before i did. We are now in clinicals, soon we will be gearing up for step 2. I will go there for step 2 also, just in case you wondered.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA, I've had a crazy last few weeks. I passed my Step 2 CK - 210 (88%)!

I will give you my story about this program for my Step 2 CK!

I was first recommended by this program by a dear friend of mine who had taken this program for Step 2 CK and Step 3, she passed with 90+ on both. She was at the program for 6 weeks for Step 2 CK and for 3 weeks for Step 3. She is also an IMG. She is currently in Residency in IM and told me about the course, and since I've known her for 4 years, I knew she would not steer me in the wrong direction.

Soooooo, I took the course Best decision I've ever made!

Firstly, the staff is the most helpful and friendliest group of individuals I've ever met at any program or clinical rotation. They actually care about you doing well on your exam.

I started with a 110 NBME score which comes out to about 134 USMLE score. From 110 NBME score I made my way all the way to 470 NBME score. I attended all the drilling sessions, lectures and 1-on-1 tutoring sessions. Lastly, I listened to EVERYTHING Dr. N told me to do - I was at a point where I was signed up for my exam and I didn't know about my own anxiety, Dr. N called me into her office, went over my NBME scores and told me that I needed to push my exam a week further, I didn't want to, but did so because I knew Dr. N had only good intentions for me. Now that I got my results back, I am so happy I listened to her!

Guys, honestly, this course is amazing! If I can go from a 110 to 470 and pass on first attempt, YOU CAN TOO! Go to the program and just follow everything Dr N tells you to do, she will guide you and so will the tutors. She does not want you to fail and does everything she can to get you to a point where she knows you will walk into the exam and pass.

And LAST but not least, you always get greeted with a smile from the prettiest face at the center - Hina, she will always be there to look after you if you ever need something if you aren't able to get a hold of Dr N.
“I have failed time and time again… and that is why I succeed.”
