Hi there I was wondering if anyone knows how to study the goljen material…

Hi there I was wondering if anyone knows how to study the goljen material…
I KNOW THIS QUESTION WAS ASKED B4 BUT I WOULD LIKE TO REFORMULATE BECAUSE I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION AND HERE IT IS: because when I was listening to him I noticed I almost went crazy having to keep going back and forth through his material to see what he was talking about in relation to his notes…
He’s really deep and intense but worth while I find. You can tell he’s really on the student’s side as he himself quotes on one of he’s lectures “he’s really sorry for the boards people” so right then and there you can tell he’s all for us. He was saying that because he knew that he was breaking all the hard work stuff that the board exams are trying you think about. He really makes you a man out a boy when it comes to being ready for him and preparing you for the process.
I would like to personally elect Dr. Goljen as the best overall teacher from the whole Kaplan group of teachers and what not that is out there…
I got the audio, the notes; the systemic and general path notes and all…
I was wondering though: should I follow the audio with the general notes for the first days of his audio lectures, because that material the cell injury one is only discussed on his general path notes, and then lets say jump into the systemic pathology notes when he starts talking about hematoly?
Or should I just listen to him first of all for all the five days; and then do the HY notes and the questions from his books for last?
I find this kind of confusing since I know that he talks out side of his notes making associations (which in my opinion is really what this exam is all about at times) all the time. Although I think he’s a must; I still haven’t figured out a way; don’t know really how to master his materials yet smoothly I will eventually.
If anyone is to be so kind as to say if he or she is found a formula for studying his materials, I would be more then glad to know it from you. I have the notes general and systemic path notes; all are in books format that I got from a friend who already took the exam a last year and he got 93 on it. He did pay for the center prep and watched all the videos from the Kaplan center.
However he’s out side of the country right now so I can’t really talk to him about this; I already started listening to Dr.Goljen. HY notes are great should I just read that? And listen to him? Is that enough?
Is it better to read the HY notes since he talks so fast b4 listening to him on his lectures so you can understand him better when he’s lecturing?
Help me out guys.
Yours faithfully,
Housenhoer Elizabeth, MD

goljan

first of all, i would strongly advise against posting your full name and associating it with this illegal audio of goljan's lecture

secondly, goljans actual live lecture is supplemented by many slides to aid in his teaching. since u don't have that advantage with the audio alone, i would suggest skimming the notes before listening to his lecture so that u can have an idea of where he's going with something. also, after each lecture, go over (read) whatever it was he just talked about. At the end of the whole series, read over the entire notes in detail and it should be much easier to follow by then.

ur right that goljan is great, but u need to use it correctly for it to be a benefit to u. good luck!
