I have understand and learned many things here on this forum.
So if I go to take the driver license test, is expected for me to passed it. If I hear that someone did not pass it, then people might think o my such and easy test, you are not only suppose to passed it but also to nail it. Is the norm. So the called "normal" people will be someone has failed the driver license test in 2 occasions. But this is the interesting part about it, if the so called"normal" people stop and think for a moment could realize that maybe those people did not went to a proper driving school that prepare them for the driver test, or maybe , or maybe they are having a problem with the language or maybe they are poor test takers or maybe they have to send money to their country or feed their family or maybe they have test anxiety. Also is not the same when a so called "normal" person is still in their elite driving school and take the driving test than people that has years out of driving school(not the elite ones) or that do not even drive because they have to take the bus. Having all those factors into consideration people that are in some img"friendly" forums, might see those things, that for them are trivial but for others are not and be a little more understanding, o wait I just remembered http://www.valuemd.com/relaxing-lounge/153575-students-lose-empathy-patients-during-medical-school.html Anyway before anyone says anything, Yes is true that you need to live up to your potential. OK let me continue In the match process MANY people and personally friends I have seen with good grades not able to match, now have in mind they are not "normal"people we are talking people from other IMG schools with maybe 2-3 years out, with USCE and 80,86,passed.Second time around he match the other friend with failed/78,81 passed on the second round was able to match first year was out. But have in mind they are not "normal" 99,97, Passed rotations in the US and recently graduated. It seems difficult if you have attempts and if you have low scores and if you have been out of school for sometime, but if you try you can get a spot*_.DO NOT STOP TRYING_* Now here is the thing base on what I have seen about people always scoring 99 then you have someone score a 88 and feels terrible because everyone scores 99. Not everyone that says that score a 99 has score a 99 , I have seen people posting 99 when they actually got a 81, and 81 is still a good score and in top of that I hope you have review your biostatistics.Besides, "normal" people do not score 99, 97. That is not a percenTAGE, nor a percenTILE. By this logic, it would be impossible to classify them as "normal" since that word implies "average". A more appropriate word for someone who scores 99, 97 would be "extraordinary" The difference is that most "ordinary" people are embarrassed to admit that they did not score "extraordinarily", so you rarely read posts from them. Hence, everyone thinks scoring 99, 97 is "normal" when it is anything but that. If anyone tries to tell you otherwise, just refer them to the biostats material you learned in step 1 dealing with percentiles, bell curves, etc, which will clearly refute the claims that "most" people score so high Now don't get me wrong people do score very high in the exam and if you see the NBME states that the average score for US students is a 500 NBME points meaning about a 87. with SD of 100. Why I love to be a Moderator because I can relate to the not "normal" people, I could help maybe a little and that little means a world to someone and the joy of helping people. I love you to I hope you have been t least a little inspire and now have more streng to pick up the book and keep studying. GOD bless IMG SURVIVOR
