nbme questoin...

i don't understand why people go around and say nbme 5 or nbme 1 is 'EASY'. if they are all scaled to have a mean of 500.......what's the difference? i mean, the curve will be more or less given the difficulty of the exam. if it's easy, the curve will be close to nil.

its easier bc of the material in nbme 1. nbme if i remembered it right were mosty short stem qs and more or less straight up memorization type of qs, whereas in nbme 3 and 4....the stem were much longer and require more thinking and less 1st order type of qs
