I know this may be an obscure question, but i was wondering if anyone knows of anyone not studying and passed the step 1 anyways? I just thought I would ask here since there are alot of students on all the time. Thanks

I know a few people that took an nbme exam before they started studying and they got 190 on it so they could have passed step1 with out studying but they studied for like 2 months and ended up with 240. i think it would be really stupid to not study and simply just pass, because that would mean that if you studied you'd score very well.

Don't deceive yourself.
For somebody to pass withour prep u shd ask the person what kind of Basic Science Course did he have.
Meaning somebody who studies very hard during Medical School just needs minimum review. It is impossible for somebody who was lazy in Medical School to pass with a lazy prep

I did not know anyone who didn't study and pass. Although there was this individual I knew that was not very bright/lazy and end up passing the exam. I was shock out of my mine. Like the other poster had said, it also depends on their previous knowledge.
