My exam: March 29
Hi Forum
I took the exam today and as others partners' experience helped me, I want to help a little with my experience on the exam; sure it is very stressful to be there waiting and figure out how we are going to deal with the time on the blocks and breaks I couldn't sleep yesterday, bad bad but even that I was fine, I strongly recommend to sleep very well the night before my schedule time was 8:30 but I was earlier so they let me start at 8:00am, there were many other students taking different exams and some of them very noisy Go to visit the place one week before so you will feel familiar with the environment. The people in my place were very very nice, they even let me take some big candies with me, not water I remember I was always hoping to get some good review about recent step 1 takers but I agree is hard to remember the questions and ...against I have heard before... I think all the subjects were good distributed on the exam, Anatomy a lot, embryology also, Pathology and Pharmacology always on top same as Micro...the rest of subjects were there also of course I can't give you detail of the questions but something I can tell you is that if you get the NBME questions, I know it's a little expensive but you will be glad you did it before, practice with the test and study those questions cause you may see them again Q-bank is very helpful also, practice as more as you can with this but at the end when you are close to your test try to get NBME test on line because this is a lot more likely to the real exam, just think about it. I read this before and I did it on my exam, In one block I was almost out of time on the 49 question and with 2 seconds went to the question 50 and the time didn't run out, so I could calm down because it's truth the time doesn't run anymore but... it takes the time from your breaks, but who cares you got extra minutes for that last question The material I used was kaplan stuff, they are good enough, you will see their graphics, questions, and that will give you confidence on the exam. I made my time: 3 blocks of 2 hours and 1 block at the end, it was fine for me. A sandwich, apple and water I don't know if I will pass but I think this exam is not a monster, after the exam we always say I wish I studied more this and this but it's over and we learn from our experiences, they make us grow. Good luck to all of you. |
