Hey was told about this formula, that helps you calculate your step 1 three digit score. I dont know how true this is, but some people who have taken and passed the exam said it sounds about right. Has anyone heard about this formula and what do you have to say about
(your consistant avg x 2.33) + 83 = estimated Step 1 score
for example 60% for Uworld.
139.8 + 83 = 222.8
any if you do a ratio 75/185 = x/222.8 then x=90.324%
I would love to hear some feedback from people to verify this formula.

why even bother with the obvious. Just know where you are need it and where you can help the most.
haha i like ams formula better, it gives me a higher score
I am trying to figure this stuff out as well.
I need to think about something...maybe you know what...
Either way, it underestimated my scores...
I didn't take NBME because I heard they overestimate...

I have been using the score calculator here on a website called mystep1. weebly. com I cant post the real link just yet bc i am new to this forum. just take the space out. anyway, its pretty neat. The previous formula of uworld x 2.33 + 83 I think is a bit high. I have hear 2.2 is a more accurate representation, jsut fyi.
It is pretty neat bc you can put uworld, nbme, kaplan scores, etc into it and it does a regression thing on a bell curve. It uses all the scores at once instead of jsut uworld or just nbme.
In response to my previous post, I took my step1 today, so I will let you know how accurate the score calculator (or the formula) is. Ahhh!.. I mean YAY!!!
Just visit this site, looks relatively helpful. thanks for the link
