Start doing USMLEWorld first. USMLEWorld is a question bank that will give you explanations to WHY you should pick a particular answer and learn along the way. Throughout your studies you should spread the four NBMEs as a means of testing yourself against exams that are specifically designed from the real USMLEs. The NBMEs will not give you any answers. Just an equivalent USMLE score and a feedback on your strengths and weaknesses per subject.

how can one calculate the score of the nbme forms?

They show you on the page, assuming you're legally buying them and not getting the "free" ones.

Good thread on letting people know to do NBMEs early. It's a good indicator of what you will score on the real exam.

I did Form 1 two days ago and I got 700 (256), and just had the real deal today!! I'm hoping for a nice correlation there. I studied for 3.5 months; the exam felt pretty similar to the NBME although I definitely had blocks which were tougher, and some questionswith ridiculously long stems.

Step 1 is definitely doable.

I am between the kaplan web prep and center prep any suggestions since you have taken center prep?
