How's it going on UW?

Man, those questions are really something else! It's very humbling, to say the least. My cum avg has gone down--is it just me or did they turn up the difficulty factor recently? However, the info from the explanations helps me kick the crap out of other question bank q's, like Pretest, Qbook, WebPath, etc. I am waiting on taking the NBME until I can at least break 65% on UW...ok, 60%...uh, 55%? 50%, I'll take it!!! Right now my cum avg is 41% Anyone feeling down about your UW scores, feel free to commiserate.

hey hey hey...okay dont focus on the cumulative average..has your average for you random test gone up... if it has and you are getting between 50-60% on random test with 50 questions consistently(for the most part) then i would go ahead and take the nbme. if you focus on the cumulative average...you would have to hit above 75 consistently before your average would go up! trust me....just focus on each test that u take.

I don't know what to do either. Im just going to do the questions my 2nd time now. Hopefully the percentage will go up.
Stay positive, have some faith in yourself.

I know they are good, that they are worded as the one you will find on the test, that you will learn alot, you will find other test bank easy, but it come to this now.

are the CONCEPTS the same you will find on thetest?

A friend of mine was talking how much they enphasize in the kidney embriology and with something about mesenteric artery, I did not had none of that when I took my test, neither my friends were tested on those concepts.

If you have done more than 50% of the test, and your % is in the 40's you need to remember that you eill need to score more tha 65 to get close to the 55%.

Just take it as a learning tool , I know you have learn alot of new things, and review things that you tought you knew.

I knew going in that it was best to look at UW as more of a learning tool. But after starting off strong then dropping down low got to me, I guess.

Thanks everyone, my perspective has improved.

Hellooo!

Kind of you to ask, thanks. My %'s are all over the place, up and down...my problem is with retention, so I am taking steps to remedy that by making notecards/charts of the concepts that keep tripping me up. Another thing I noticed is that I had been doing UW late at night while a little tired. I started doing it earlier in the day, and my number correct went up drastically.

As far as the learning is concerned, I guess I am learning/solidifying concepts because after I do a session on UW, my %'s go up on other questions, e.g. Robbins review, WebPath, PreTest, etc.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I am doing non-random because I am studying one topic at a time, so I create tests accordingly. I suppose that when I have finished all of my readings and start doing the random tests, my % will go up? Also, I began my review with my stickiest subjects...
