quick questions, do people score higher in Kaplan Qbank or USMLEWORLD qbank??

I started with kaplan and now am doing USMLEworld and am scoring Higher in usmleworld then kaplan. I feel usmleworld tests more concepts and high yield stuff, while kaplan tests all the nitty gritty stuff.

Actually, I don't think Kaplan tested the nitty gritty stuff at all. I felt it was very key word happy, and if you read their books, you should breeze through it.

USMLEworld actually asked for more nit grit stuff I felt. A lot of people think Uworld is a lot closer to the real thing than Kaplan. I would agree.

I only used USMLE World, and I thought it was a fairly good predictor of the difficulty of the questions asked. The other thing that I liked about it was that the interface was exactly the same as the real USMLE exam.
I didn't do well on USMLE World, to be honest, and it did scare me. I feel that, in retrospect, I should have done all the questions (and started doing them sooner); I only finished about 50% of the total questions by the time I took my exam.
I guess it doesn't matter anymore, though :-)

Oh good i'm not the only one. I had the same experience with both qbanks, scoring higher in UW than Kaplan. Anyway, I have to agree that Kaplan likes to test alot of detail that is often found only in their review books. Furthermore, many of their questions are straight recall, and rarely test one's ability to apply the information.

I havent taken the exam yet, but as Dr. Goljan says, "they dont ask what it is, but how it works.......concepts, concepts, concepts". Maybe thats why the guy decided to write one of the most amazing review books in existence. Anyway, I think UW does a great job of addressing that style of question.

my USMLE was very much recall centered, not application. But still, Kaplan was not really of any help either. The way they phrased their questions, the format, their emphasis, etc, were off. Stick with Uworld and read more than Kaplan and FA.

HELP! I have 2 months before the exam. How should I plan my study schedule and how many questions should I do (should i just stick to UW?)? Is 2 months not enough time at all? I here US medstudents have 6 weeks to study for the boards. Being an IMG would 2 months be too little prep time?
