I dont think u will need to get 150 more ques right for a 3 pt increase but this is very significant. As u can see from the many posts on this forum its hard enough for people to meet the min. of 182. I think this will have a big impact on a lot of peoples lives.

in the us 90+ pass this exam. from the carib it rangesconsiderably but up to US standards. three points will make little difference to the masses. there usmle has been raised in many times in the past and life has gone on. consider it a favor -if you squeek by the passing mark you could be in worse shape if you want a competitive residency than if you need to retake it. and if your gut is wrenching by the thought of needing three more points to pass, keep in mind that this should be telling you something: namely that you either are not prepared or are aiming too low. there is no reason someone shouldnt do well on this exam if they have proper study techniques. high intelligence isnt needed. so take a lesson from your reaction to this news. if it scares you, consider that you need study conselling and get it. make use of it.

It will hurt a few for sure, and some of these may even be good doctors. but frankly keeping standards up is not something to be annoyed with.

LOL A 185 gets you what? a choice between FP, IM and OB? Come on.....a lot of MD wanna be's are on here telling me Surgery and Rads, Derm and Anesthesia, you will never go to the Caribbean and just pass the uslme and get those residencies.

So really this is no big deal, I know to shoot for 200 or better, I always have though that and I just want FP....................

Besides 3 points is 60 to now 61% to pass wow not a difference really and sad to whine about............

BTW explain to me how 1% increase to the score = 150 questions? The test is what.........15,000 questions then?
