Please I encourage Ping and other test takers to share CONCEPTS.please read below.
I really truly believe it is crucial to share knowledge. If I had the knowledge I have now, I would have done much better on Step 1. I DO NOT believe that sharing knowledge will upset the NBME, as long as we are NOT REPEATING EXACT QUESTIONS/ANSWERS, which will piss them off and possibly lock up this precious forum. However, if Ping or the other test takers encountered questions that are GOOD concepts, they SHOULD hopefully share them on this board and reword them so that everyone together LEARNS. AGAIN, THE nbme PROHIBITS remembered regurgitation of exact questions, so let's all avoid that so we won't anger them! BUT, they cannot become angry if we present a remembered question as a BONAFIDE TRUE concept or model. The NBME possesses an arsenal of a MILKY WAY of questions. But, as I have said again and again, after talking to all of my friends who passed Step 1, it is amazing how the same concepts repeat. I mean, the NBME wants to make sure you know for example that a pregnant woman is immunocompromised and you CAN'T give her like ciprofloxacin or tetracycline for an infection!!!! So, they have like a thousand different questions that WILL address just ONE concept. So, please, read and understand my questions, as I have collected like the WHOLE body of knowledge "I think" that the NBME wants as a CORE for you to know to PASS Step 1. So, if and when you sit for the exam, report back to this forum and don't be afraid to articulate the knowledge of what you are asked. Just don't post stuff like "Here are the exact questions I got!" because then the NBME will get upset (HOWEVER, THEY PROBABLY ARE NOT LOOKING AT THIS BOARD ANYWAYS, AFTER ALL, THEY ARE NOT A POLICE FORCE). BUT, say you get a pic. of the abdomen and are asked about a certain disease process or illness that is a great learning point, SHARE IT so that the next people CAN LEARN from it, not just memorize it. Then, I think the NBME should BE HAPPY that knowledge is growing and we are becoming better physicians. Again, sharing USMLE content is NOT a VIOLATION if shared in a way that furthers understanding. Thus, even I recall a lot of exact questions but I am presenting them in a way that WILL ENABLE you to answer the question without violating copyright laws if you encounter the same learning point!
