Here is my take on the role of iodine: (my answers are in bold print)

Iodine is essential for the making of the thyroid hormones; thyroxine is 65% iodine. Iodine is used along with tyrosine to produce the thyroid hormone precursors (sorry don't remember the names)... which then will help to make T3 and T4;

I don't know the answer to this question... would have to look it up; I do know that those that use IUDs have an increased chance of having an ectopic pregnancy; and do remember reading that with medroxyprogesterone... it takes on the average nine months for the fertility to return.. whereas abortion could be to various reasons... even if it was due to an ectopic pregnancy...
