Q) Pt comes in w/ CC of "tunnel vision". Pt is old. Pt has headaches. Pt is male with enlarged jaw and frequent sweating? What is the disease? (Hint: it is a tumor around CNIII in the brainstem)
a) This is most classic for a pituitary tumor pushing on the optic chiasm with pressure in the head. Think of what the anterior pit. produces....You may get hyperthyroidism, tunnel vision from compression of CN III. Higher prolactin levels, galactorrhea, high sex hormone levels.
