USMLE Step 1 Preparation Resource Center

Welcome to the USMLE Step1 Link Library!

I am creating a "sticky note" that includes a list of suggested study resources for the USMLE Step1. These study resources will include books, live lectures, website links and anything else you can send me. You may also send me lists of resources to definitely avoid. I would also like you to rate (as a percentage) how effective those resources were to you. For example, you may suggest that "First Aid covered or was helpful for 85% of your tested exam material."

*Please send me your suggestions by posting, private message or email.

The general consensus is that you MUST KNOW or have studied, as a minimum, the following:
1) First Aid for the USMLE Step1 = http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...luetheplace-20
2) Kaplan's Qbank = http://www.kaptest.com/med_home.jhtml

Other top candidates include:

2) WebPath = http://medlib.med.utah.edu/WebPath/webpath.html

Date: 7/14/2004, 4:05 AM
From: registrar@northwesternmedicalreview.com

We are sending you this email as part of our outreach program to introduce your class to Northwestern Medical Review USMLE Step I preparation services.

For over 20 years our company has been preparing medical students for their USMLE examinations. We offer five live-lecture review plans, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 15-day courses. We can bring any of these plans to your campus. Our teaching methodology, animated mnemonics, quality review books, test banks, high-yield approach to USMLE, outstanding pass rate and low cost programs have consistently produced the highest satisfaction rate among our course participants.

Each year, from August through October we offer free informational meeting to the entire members of eligible classes on a select number of medical campuses. This year we would be happy to come to your campus for a FREE informational/demo meeting. In our 60-minute meeting you and your colleagues will get the opportunity to learn about our CBT web-operated Q bank, our teaching styles and methodologies, our review books and our study materials. In addition, you will secure a very attractive promotional discounted tuition rate for every member of your class.

You may preview information about our various USMLE Step I plans at our web at www.NorthwesternMedicalReview.com, or by dropping me a short email at contactus@northwesternmedicalreview.com.

Question I'm not sure if is to late for me to start the USMLE

I found interesting what you are doing, I leave in America since 1988, last time I did the test was on 1992, at the time I have 62, then everything change..now I'm considering the idea to re start.
I'm graduated from UAG on 1986...ummmm long time ago.
At present I'm working in clinical research, since 6 hrs ago.
Please give me and advice.

Cecilia

I am creating a "sticky note" that includes a list of suggested study resources for the USMLE Step1. These study resources will include books, live lectures, website links and anything else you can send me. You may also send me lists of resources to definitely avoid. I would also like you to rate (as a percentage) how effective those resources were to you. For example, you may suggest that "First Aid covered or was helpful for 85% of your tested exam material."
