You need to be ECFMG certified before you can start your residency. Therefore, no ECFMG certified no residency.
You need to have your USMLE step 1, step 2 CK and CS, and graduate from your med school before you become ECFMG certified.
You need to have your USMLE step 1 and step 2 CS before you can turn in your match list.
It is best to finish all your core rotations before taking your step2. It is best to postpone your test if you are not ready. Step 1 is not a rate limiting step so it is okay to take it in June.
