Thread: USMLE EXAM time..

Hey Everyone! I wasn't sure but is it true there are different time slots to take the USMLE step 1 exam. For example at some centers you can take it at 8am,10am or 12pm so if I wanted to I can take my USMLE step 1 exam at 12pm?? Because one of my friends told me I can do that but I wasn't sure. She even checked online at the prometric centers but I thought maybe the other times are for the students taking GMATS,GREs..I was getting so happy that I can take my exam at 12pm cuz i'm seriously not a morning person at all! But if somsone could tell me to reassure me that I can take it at a later time or if someone that has taken it at later time could tell me I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes...depending on the center, u can take the exam at different times.

My center had slots for 8 am, 9 am, 12 pm, 1 pm

Over here though the later slots filled up quickly due to the heavy traffic in the morning so sign up early!

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm happy now that I can take it later..I will try to register early for it,,but how early should I register for it..do you think one week would be ok or earlier? thanx again!

earlier!!! well...actually, I guess it depends on where u are taking the exam. if you are in new york, atlanta, los angeles, or any of the big cities, schedule earlier. if u are in a smaller town, i guess u could schedule later.

but really, u should schedule a few weeks prior.

best of luck bro with your usmle but don't forget to wake up at 12. cuz if you can't make it a habbit of waking up in the morning by now then I have one word for you good luck with clinical or else you won't make through clinical.

Thanx for your input. I appreciate it. I'm already in the habit of waking up in the morning cuz if I wasn't I wouldn't have made it through med school with 8am classes! lol...
I would just rather take the exam at a later time. I think I would feel more relaxed and comfortable. I'm sure other people can relate too. I think whatever one feels the best for them the person should do..
