Hi u all wanna share some stuff with all on the forum.I was on the forum couple of months back but instead of writing much as i didnt have much time i kept reading all of your posts.Great forum!!!!
Coming to exam exp:well i think first of all the exam can be very strange.I cant say how i did as i did make silly mistake as loads of stress and u r pressed for time etc .I did whole of Q bank half with time restriction and half as ease.Scored around 65% to be honest and I scored a 56% on kaplan CD.I have been preparing for last 6-7 months 6-7 hrs a day coz i have a family to take care of.
The Qs can be form anywhere (kaplan Q bank is a good simulation in my opinoin)
PATH and PHYSIO need real understanding.BRS for both is cool.
BIOCHEM i didnt get many Qs though i got lots of Qs on BIOSTAT which i was very scared of coz the medical schools in india dont teach biostats as USMLE requires,in my exp i highly reocmmend HY though i think for me even that was tough and Kapln isnt enough for biostat.
FA is bible know it inside out.
but read FA while cramming only not understanding as only factual.
PHARMA ,lipincot for sure as kaplan doesnt make u understand but maybe they are good for autonomic pharm.
I had CT and MRI.lots of histology and trust me i ignored histo details while preparing i am regretting it now.
MICRO:i got lots of bugs nothing tuf very basic
ANAT:i got quite a few anat Qs and HY is pretty good though u need to know brain cross sections well and also do neuro clinicall cramming it up isnt good.
I had enuf BEH Sc Qs ethics very imp.
Well i also fell short on the mathematics based Qs i am very weak in maths so .... dunno
Overall it was nice to have some free days before the result though i am very nervous for the it.
For all u guys out there CONCEPTS it is folks!!!!!!!
