Thread: med school tutor

I have struggled with step 1 and failed at my last attempt. Has anyone ever used med school tutors, a professional tutoring business based out of new york? They help identify weaknesses and help to strengthen them. However they are very expensive, more than the cost of tuition. Please help!

You do not need a tutor to pass step 1. Everyone knows step 1 is more difficult than step 2ck and step 3. Just read slowly for step 1. Understand the material and memorize the detials. If you feel you need a tutor. Go to a company like kaplan and ask for one on one tutoring. A kaplan like kaplan has yrs of experience and the best teaching staff in the world. If they cannot help you. No one can.

carribeanmd: I don't know what you decided to do. But I would call med school tutors. You don't even have to work with them. I didn't yet, but they spoke with me for a while, and I can tell you that it feels good to speak with them. They are straightforward and will tell you what's missing from your studies. Without paying anything, you might wind up in better shape than before.

Anyway, I start with my tutor next week. Never thought I would use one, but after Kaplan led me nowhere (TWICE!!!!), I was desperate. Now at least I feel like I'm on the right track. What I'm really excited about is the personal study schedule. I'll definitely let you know whether it's helpful.

caribbeanmed: Just want to let you know.... I passed with 89!!!!!!! I can't believe after two fails I am finally moving on with a good score. Can't say it was cheap, but med school tutors worked. Sorry to valsalva if it didn't work for you, but it was the best thing I ever did for Step 1. Hope you all are having good luck too!

step 3 is by far the hardest, btw.
