Passed!!! 218/90

Exam date - July 6, 2007
Score Reported - July 25, 2007 (I got in the mail on August 3)
Oasis tricked worked two days after my score was reported.

UW score - 49% (unused, mixed) I redid all of UW after completing it once raising my score to a 56% cumulative

USMLE CD _ 56% (over a month before the test)

NBME 1 - 380 - 6 weeks prior
NBME 2 - 470 - 3 weeks prior
NBME 3 - 410 - 1 week prior

USMLE SCORE - 218/90

I used all the Kaplan books and lectures to study. In the last month I only used UW and First Aid. I wrote my exam in the prometric center in Toronto and it was a really comfortable experience, no problems on exam day.

Can you explain this to me?

"UW score - 49% (unused, mixed)"

how would you get a score/marks if it is for UN-used questions?

this phrase: "UW score - 49% (unused, mixed) " has been everywhere...

questions:

when i begin to do the UW q-bank or kaplan q-bank, shall i place them in the timing mode or practice mode?

which one shall i start first?

i know NBME should be used for the last few wks before the real exam. and, it should be placed in the timing mode to check where i am standing.

another question:

"USMLE CD _ 56% (over a month before the test)"

what is this USMLE CD? where do you obtain this CD?

thanks in advance!!

When they say "unused" it means questions they encountered for the first time, not repeats. As you can select to repeat questions as well, or use "unused" questions. The score most correlating with your ability to pass the USMLE are those that you scored on unused questions.

Do whatever you feel best. I used practice mode so I could study as I went along.

Whoever said NBME's should be used at the end did everyone a huge disservice, wherever this piece of advice is coming from. It should be used/spaced throughout your preparation period. There is no better marker to see where you stand and WHAT YOU NEED TO STUDY MORE OF!! So by the very end, when you take the last NBME, you should be very sure of where you stand as to whether or not you need to study more and where to study.

The USMLE CD are the same 150 questions you can get off of the official webpage I believe. Do a little searching there and you'll find them.
