A lot of people who have posted on this forum, myself included, felt that the test was hard or that we got too many questions wrong and ended up doing better than we expected. I think it's because the challenging questions or the stupid mistakes are the most memorable.

In my experience, "how you feel after taking the test" is a far, far, far worse predictor of your test performance than a recent (< 2 week old) NBME score.

At first I thought it went okay. Then I thought I failed. Then I sold my soul to devil.

I left the exam thinking i did fine, but as days have progressed I have been feeling worse and worse (mostly because I am remembering the dumb mistakes I made during the exam). BUT i came out of the exam going "that wasn't too bad" mostly because I realized that i didnt know every question, I am not aiming to get 95% of the questions right, i don't know which ones are experimental.

That being said, it's somewhat irritating that this notion of "if you think you failed, you did fine/well" and "if you think you did well, you failed" perpetuates the opinions of people after they leave the exam. Just the other day I overheard someone who does well in my school say "i know i failed" and it just seemed as if she said it because its the thing to say .... otherwise god forbid you say did really well and bombed the exam. Just my two cents.

Well, I have an ongoing relationship with the dude. Truth be told, he's getting a little sick of me hitting him up for favors.
